mow cop runners

Mow Cop Runners was founded in May 2009 and is affiliated to England Athletics for Road, Fell and Cross Country running. In 2009 we entered teams in the North Staffs Cross Country League and the British Fell & Hill Running Relay Championships. Members are active in many local and national races on all surfaces. Other members just run to keep fit or socially. We welcome all runners to the club whether slower beginners or more experienced.

Club Runs:

• Tuesday evenings: 7.10pm for a 7.15pm start from The Ash Inn, Mow Cop. This is for about an hour's run on the road in winter and a bit longer off road in the summer.
• Other sessions take place from Kidsgrove on Thursdays and Mow Cop on Sunday mornings.

Mow Cop Hill Race:

A new fell race on Sunday April 18th at 10.30am from Mount Pleasant Village Hall. 6.5 miles and 1200ft of ascent. Entry on the day only £5.00. Please try to car share as parking is limited. The course will be partially marked and marshalled. Approx 1 mile of road in the race, lots of mud. Small prizes to M & F category winners including V40, V50 & V60. No team prizes.
